Tracy and I talked tonight about creating a sardonic fashion style based on hip hop, but hip hop to the extreme - an creating a huge joke on the mainstream, and the counter culture, but exaggerating the rap star turned fashionisti genre, and white culture's appropriation of urban ghetto language and style as "hip." It would be a line of extreme gangsta rappa duds, with labels indicating "blood repellent" and other ridiculous stereotypes of black gangster culture, with Vanilla Ice as the spokesperson. People would either get it, and have fun with it, or be completely and utterly nonplussed or pissed off, from whatever perspective they have - and it is designed to mock ideas of fashion and cool, black and white.
