The dead marmalade cat is gone. Almost as if it had never lived, picked up, likely by city sanitation. You can smell decay and death here, in the modern, civilized world - you just never see it. Everything is anaesthetized, the way our perception of the world is. That's such the tragic irony of today, that those who have so much are so afraid of losing, that somehow our manifest destiny is development or destruction, not sustainability, not intermediate, sustainable lives. Our agendas are set, not thoughtfully, by our greatest fears, rather than our greatest hopes.
