I remember going to Barnaby's wedding, and staying with friends of the family. They had a beautiful pond near their property that was so inviting that I asked if I might have a swim. They pointed out that while snapping turtles were known to inhabit the water, no one had ever been bitten. I went out first thing in the morning, jumped in, swam a bit, but I kept thinking of those snapping turtles.
This time, the water has always felt inviting, and I feel more at home here, with Tracy, than my being ever has before.
