Alan German always says it's all ones and zeros. Even on my basic bird brain level of programming knowledge, that at least helps me see the possibilities for solving problems as simple as getting data out of one program into another, once it made sense that it really is all ascii stuff behind the curtain. A little cogitation, and a one step process, saved me having to find an entirely new time tracking program, abandoning all the intellectual capital expended over the last month integrating the approach into my life.
It's not going to be too long before programming knowledge will be as basic an expectation of higher level clerical workers as application knowledge.
While I'll never trouble myself to become Palm developer, there may be some hacks I can learn to use effectively to "bridge" some of the steps I have to take, like setting up a macro to run the manual step I have to take.
